I have no sound or poor sound quality on my soundbar

This article will help you if you hear no sound, very little sound or experience poor sound quality when using your soundbar.

There is no sound

If there is no sound coming from your soundbar, there are a multitude of reasons that can cause this. Please try each of the below in turn:

  1. Ensure your soundbar is switched on.
  2. Ensure the volume is turned up on your soundbar.
  3. Try cycling through the sources slowly (waiting 5 seconds on each), to make sure you have the right source selected.
  4. Ensure the audio cable is fully inserted into the sockets of your TV and soundbar.
  5. If you are using an optical cable, you may also need to change the audio settings to 'External Speaker' or similar on your TV, as televisions can be set to 'TV Speaker' by default.
  6. If you are using an AUX/RCA/Phono cable, ensure that you have connected the cables to an Audio Output socket on your TV and not an Audio Input, as they can look very similar.

If none of the above steps resolve your issue, try the below.

There is sound but it is very low volume or is of poor quality

If there is sound coming from your soundbar, but it is of poor quality or low volume, try the below:

  1. If you are using the AUX source ensure that your TV/HEADPHONE volume to 80% or higher.
  2. If your connected devices have a variable volume, for example Set Top Boxes or Media Players, ensure the volume on these is set to 100%.
  3. Try another connection; we recommend connecting via optical. You can see how to do this on our soundbar setup page.
  4. Try connecting your soundbar to another TV or device.
